Augmented reality with transparent screens and eye tracking

At the Hannover Messe 2019, the focus was once again on the Future of Work. Because in a complex world, work is also becoming increasingly complex and requires software that connects global sales, international development teams and production sites all over the world. The SAP vision of the “Intelligent Enterprise” was to be staged with an interactive storytelling concept, in short: to explain the SAP D-2-O closed end-to-end solutions to new and existing customers in a way that everyone understands. At first, this caused a headache: How do you tell a story that deals with both abstract topics such as SAP-supported planning processes and real manufacturing processes?

How do you get the maximum amount of process information across with the minimum amount of text?

Fascinating images about invisible processes

First of all, a good story needs a hero – we found our product hero in the form of a double-seat valve, whose journey from development to commissioning the visitor could follow by body movement and eye control. His D2O world was now knitted around him: the SAP stand told the story of the closed loop – from Design 2 Operate on 2,000 sqm real – and on 20 sqm virtual.

A double-seat valve goes on a journey

The highlight exhibit became a real crowd-puller and was optimised for subsequent use at over 100 follow-up events. We wish the Intelligent Valve a safe journey!
